The rainfall in the first days of autumn followed by sunny yet cool days are the best conditions for mushrooms to grow in the forests. The most popular are without a doubt milk caps, although they are not considered the most tasty by the locals, who prefer grey knights or woodwaxes. During the season the youngsters of the area go mushroom hunting in groups inside the neighbouring forests. It is quite usual to grill them and eat them with some garlic and parsley.
