At the end of the year in many villages in La Conca de Tremp tasting sessions are held for the new wine. After the first boiling and decanting, it is time to check that the wine is being properly produced. The owner of the winery offers visitors coca or cake and biscuits, making sure that the first to arrive are his closest friends having agreed in advance when to tap the vat. It was common in the past to recite poetry and also "prayers":
