Wildlife watching hides in Boumort

Description

Boumort National Game Reserve has been a pioneer in the use of hides for wildlife watching and photography. The hide of Boumort feeding station went into service in 2004 and was of the first of Catalonia that responded to a modern vision of wildlife watching hides: integrated in the landscape, with electricity and WC. Since then, and once initiated the reintroduction project of the Cinereous Vulture in the Pyrenees, it has allowed to enjoy the four species of European vultures to many birdwatchers and nature photographers. Other species of raptors, mammals such as foxes or deer, and birds such as the Red-backed Shrike, can also be seen. The Reserve has two other hides that complement the offer for watching scavengers and mammals such as Red Deer or Wild Boar.

Terms of Service

To use the wildlife-watching hides of Boumort you must have the corresponding permission.

To obtain this, send the application form by postal mail to the post address, or by email to the following address: rncboumort@gencat.cat

It is necessary to pay a rate of utilization of the hide per person and day, in the concept of the execution of permits to photograph or to film wildlife from a hide in a national game reserve. The payment letter will be sent to the applicant after the date of the visit has been agreed.

The funds raised with this rate are reverted to the operation of the reserve and the hides, through the provision of food, the maintenance of the facilities and the conservation of the species. This implies that this area and the activity of the observers are monitored.

The working period to use the hides is from Monday to Saturday (except holidays) throughout the year, provided that the conditions allow access to the site and that there is availability of places.

It is necessary to give a copy of the photographs that may have scientific value (individuals marked or with physical problems, sightings of rare species, etc.), as well as an image of each report, for the archives of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
