Description

This gorge is the natural border between the regions of La Noguera and El Pallars Jussà, but also between the Lleida Plain and the Pre-Pyrenees. At this point, the river Noguera Pallaresa splits the Montsec mountains into two impressive cliffs more than 500 m high, leaving at the sides the Montsec d'Ares and Montsec de Rúbies, beautiful settings that well worth a visit.

This is an important spot for climbing lovers, but also to practise other activities such as excursions, caving or water sports at the Terradets reservoir, about 100 m away. The Tren dels llacs (the lakes train) passes this area before stopping at the station of Cellers.
