Walled village of Moror

La vila closa de Moror

Description

An old medieval village, where the houses are organised around a main square dominated by the Romanesque church of Sant Miquel. The village is located over a scarp, and hence it was vertically built, from top to bottom. It has a single street from the main square to the fountain and in the village centre there is the Raval square. This structure gives the appearance of a walled village. Two of the towers that formed the old castle can still be seen on the streets. Another interesting spot is the Sanui house, maybe the biggest house ever built over a scarp in Catalonia.

From this village you can enjoy great views over the surrounding landscape, with the Montsec mountains on the foreground.
