Mare de Déu d'Arbul
Description
This is a single nave building, with barrel vaults reinforced by two arches. A semicircular apse, open through a chancel arch, ends the nave to the east.
On the inside, the well conserved Baroque decoration hides its original features. The gate is located at the west façade, which has a two-eyed bell gable on the top.
The walls have simple squared ashlars placed in uniform and regular rows, showing the construction and decoration features of the 11th century architecture.
History
Despite being documented from 1077, there are no historical references form the church, which was most probably the chapel for the neighbouring fortification of Arbul.
