Description

This mansion was built with the materials and decorations of the Art Nouveau style, but with the uniqueness of being located far away from the artistic centres of the time. The outside structure does not have the distinctive wavy lines of Art Nouveau. Throughout the building there is a strong presence of nature and asymmetry which underline the dynamism of the building. Casa Mauri restores the traditional professions integrating applied arts into architecture. Mosaics, stained glass windows and forge are especially remarkable. The mosaics were made by Lluís Bru, author of the mosaics in the Palau de la Música Catalana and the SantPauHospital in Barcelona. Casa Mauri is the current house of the Town Council.
