Description

The Ruta de la Vall dels Voltors (Valley of the Vultures Route) will interest everyone, regardless of their age, who would enjoy, leaving from Pont d'Orrit, spending a day out in an area of great natural beauty and cultural value. The Casal dels Voltors (vultures' house) in Torre de Tamúrcia is a good starting point to get to know this birds of prey. Next places of interest following the route are the viewpoint of Mirador de la Collada at Torogó with wonderful views over the Sant Gervás mountain and the village of Torogó. Enjoy the landscapes of La Terreta region or the Font dels Capellans (priest’s spring). Further on, visitors will find themselves in the Roureda d’Aulàs, the most extensive oak wood in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees. You will finally visit the village of Sapeira, where it is recommended to visit the church of Santa Maria but, above all, it is worth finishing the route with the views from the church square and the viewpoint of the Roca del Castell. From here you can admire the cliff of Turmeda and its important vulture colony. This route (31 km) was initially designed for motor vehicles, but it can also be followed by mountain bike or even on foot.
