3.5 Tossal de les Tres Muntanyes

From the Filià hut we head south along the Coma de l’Estany. We leave the lake on the left and continue up the valley in the direction of the wide and obvious Col de lo Portarró located to the S. Once on the ridge, we continue up towards the southwest to reach Tossal de Calma (or Tossal d’Astell, 2620 m). Depending on the snow conditions, we will have to take off our skis and climb the ridge with crampons. We begin a first descent of about 200 m of unevenness towards the southwest until we reach a small pond. From this point we will go back towards the Tossal de les Tres Muntanyes. Although it can be faced directly in a north-westerly direction over a steeper rocky area usually covered with snow, the safest route is to continue southwards up the ridge and head north-west to El Tossal of the Three Mountains (2620 m). With spectacular views towards the northern area of ​​Filià and the head of the Flamisell, the possibilities of returning are very great since from this point we can access a large part of the Filià range between the Pic de Llena (2686 m) in the west to Tossal de Calma and Tossal de la Costa (2604 m) to the east. The less complicated descent will be made by heading to the wide pass located to the west between the two Tossals (Tres Muntanyes and Calma). We descend in a north-easterly direction to the Mascarell pass, pass it and descend northwards through the Filià meadow to the cabin.
