DESCRIPTION
From the Filià (or Vaquer) hut, we go up the valley towards the west, leaving the Coma Palomera ravine on the left. We overcome two small bumps that will allow us to do the first Maria turns without any difficulty and we reach the Filià pass by going up the Coma del Port. From the pass we take the ridge in a south and southwest direction which is quite steep in the first few meters and will force us to take off our skis. Afterwards, the ridge is wide enough to ski in most conditions. The final section is quite flat.
The descent traces the ridge in a north-east direction, leaving Coma Tancada to the north. Without leaving the broad ridge at any time, we lose height until about 2250 m where we find the ascent route again. We will do the last section of the descent parallel to the ascent route looking for the best snow conditions.
With very good conditions of stability and a good level of skiing, you can descend Coma Redona and rejoin the route down the Cap de la Ribera ravine.
SAFETY AND PRACTICAL ADVICE
The main difficulty of the route is from the Coll de Filià onwards and the first section of the descent where the terrain is Complex and it is necessary to assess the snow stability conditions well. In case of doubts, we will descend by the same route we ascended.
