This route requires good snow conditions but is the safest access to the Filià area from the Manyanet valley. It is proposed as an access to Filià but can be faced as a good excursion in itself.

DESCRIPTION
We leave the car in Castellnou d’Avellanos or we can follow the track if the snow conditions permit. We follow the route of the track to the end (1850 m). We go up the western slope to Pilar de la Pala (2198 m). From this point we will follow the ridge in a northerly direction that we will not leave until we reach our goal. In the access to the Tossal de la Pala Gran (2304 m) the ridge narrows and, depending on the snow conditions, we will have to walk to the next tossal (Tossal de les Comes de Guiró – 2463 m). The final section of the ridge is wider and, if the snow is not very hard, we can do it with skis on our feet to Tossal de les Tres Muntanyes (2597 m) Mina (2732 m).
We can easily access the Filià valley by following the descent route 3.5 and complete an attractive crossing if we have left a vehicle at the start of the Filià track.
SAFETY AND PRACTICAL ADVICE
The south orientation of the ascent makes it a good alternative in spring as it can be accessed to a very high altitude with a vehicle and make a quick approach to the shade of Filià. The snow we will find at the end of the season is usually well stabilized. Care must be taken on descents towards the shade where the snow will have very different characteristics, both in quality and stability.
