DESCRIPTION
We start from the Colomina refuge and cross the lake in a northerly direction to the water inlet. We go up the 30 m gradient leaving the Estany de Mar dam on the right and go around the entire lake by the edges in a clockwise direction. At its eastern end we leave the pond and go up the western slope passing a small area of small ponds. We keep going up, always seeing the Mainera pass in front of us. The terrain is very irregular and we can trace wherever we like. We are going up to approximately 2500, although we could go back up to the foot of the canals without difficulty.
SAFETY AND PRACTICAL ADVICE
The proposed itinerary has no physical or technical difficulty and is suitable for any user with snowshoes who wants to take a walk starting from the refuge. However, several things should be taken into account: • This is one of the options among the numerous ones that can be done in this fairly flat and wide terrain. • We can only carry out this itinerary if the ponds are well frozen. Otherwise, the route we will have to follow will be around the pond and the terrain becomes complicated. • Although it is feasible to extend the route to almost 2600 in the direction of the coll de Mainera, we are already leaving Simple terrain. This implies making a good assessment of snow stability and group preparation.
