One of the great classics of the Flamisell headwaters from the Colomina refuge. This description proposes a circular route although it is very common to make the direct ascent from the refuge going up and down the southern slope.

DESCRIPTION
We leave the refuge descending in a SW direction towards the Tort lake (2294 m). Arriving at the lake, we can cross it by skating or wearing seal skins depending on the snow conditions. We continue upstream crossing the different ponds (Nariolo, Cubieso-Eixerola, Castieso and Morto) turning progressively north, east and finally southeast until the last pond of Carboneres. From here the slope becomes steeper and we climb the final climb towards the Carboneres pass in front of us between the two objective peaks of the day, Pic de Vidals on the left and Pic Tort on the right. We climb the last few meters without skis and arrive at the Carboneres pass (2799 m). We leave the skis on the pass and climb the ridge to the Pico dels Vidals (2904 m). In the same way, we can optionally also access the Tort peak (2886 m). We descend by the solana pala to the Vidals ponds above. We continue down the southwest slopes to the Xic de Colomina pond, looking for the gentler slopes below 35 degrees. From this lake we head in an E direction to the refuge of Colomina.
SAFETY AND PRACTICAL ADVICE
It is necessary to plan the outing taking into account that the descent will be made on the south slope and the snow may already be very transformed. Most of the ascent is made on large slopes with little slope (Simple terrain). The critical point of the itinerary is the access to the Carboneres pass. This north-facing slope is usually quite affected by the wind with good rocky anchorages but in the highest part we will have to cross slopes that approach 40 degrees. Access to the peaks from the pass presents no technical difficulty but crampons and an ice axe are necessary as in very few occasions will we find conditions to move with skis.
