DESCRIPTION
From the Gento Lake Visitor Center we head towards the dam and follow it along the lower part to some ruined buildings that we leave on our left. We go up a short slope to a hill where we will find a tin (2230 m). In front of us is the Barranc de la Coma d’Espós and in the background the Montorroio. From this point we will do a circular clockwise route, going up to the small lake of Font Blanca (2410 m) and returning via Pala Portell to the first pass we climbed on the way. The itinerary can be extended, also without any difficulty, up to the Coma d’Espós pass (2638 m).
SAFETY AND PRACTICAL ADVICE
Despite the low difficulty of the route, considering that it is intended for a user potentially without knowledge of the mountains and little preparation, it should be noted that both the access to the first pass and to the Font Blanca pond have slopes that may occasionally be between 30 and 35 degrees. Therefore, in conditions of high instability they could potentially be dangerous. On days of low visibility (fog or mist), the open terrain through which the route runs makes it difficult to have references and easy to get lost.
