This itinerary is an essential ascent if you want to say that you have been to the Vall Fosca, it offers an exceptional balcony with unbeatable views of the Riqüerna Valley and the headwaters of the Flamisell River.
SAFETY AND PRACTICAL ADVICE
We need good snow stability to face the ascent because, in situations of heavy winter snowfall and also wet snow, the Polvorós Peak (south-west slope of the Pic) can be purged with large snowfalls.
It is important to assess whether the descent via Font Sobirana is sufficiently stable. If this is not the case, it is necessary to make the descent by going off the ascent route. At the exit of the pass and in the central part of the slope the exposure to avalanches is high, creating complex terrain with no safe alternatives.
